Restrictions help you control when and where teams play so your schedule fits everyone’s needs.
Why Restrictions Matter
Adding these restrictions saves you a ton of time. This makes it easier to manually fix conflicts or if using the auto-schedule, the system handles them for you—making scheduling faster, smoother, and far less stressful.
Here's how:
Open Scheduling in the top navigation bar.
Select your event, then click Teams in the left menu.
Find the team you want to update and click the three dots (⋮) next to their name.
Click Notes & Restrictions to open their restriction settings.
From here, you can update any of the following.
Time Restrictions
Use this when a team has a request about when they can (or cannot) play.
Examples:
“Done by 3:00”
“No early morning games”
“Cannot play until after 12 PM”
“Early Saturday, late Sunday” (multi-day events)
To set a time restriction:
Open the Time Restrictions dropdown.
Choose a preset (like Morning, Afternoon, Done By 3:00, etc.).
Save your changes.
💡 Tip: Time restrictions directly affect the auto-scheduler. Only add what’s necessary to keep your schedule flexible.
Coach Restrictions
Use this when multiple teams share the same coach and cannot play at the same time.
Examples:
Two or more teams coached by the same person
A coach with teams in different grade levels
“Coach for 6th and 7th grade teams — no overlapping games”
A coach who must finish one game before starting the next
To link coach groups:
In Link Coach Restriction Teams, type the names of every team that shares the coach and tap the check box to add/link the team.
Select a color tag for the group.
All teams with the same color appear linked on the schedule.
This makes it easy to avoid giving them overlapping game times.
Save your changes.
💡 Tip: Use the same color for all teams with the same coach so they’re easy to recognize while scheduling.
Location Restrictions
Use this when a team needs to play at a specific venue or avoid certain locations.
Examples:
“Please schedule us in Northbrook only.”
“We must play at Romeoville.”
“We cannot play at Facility C.”
To set a location restriction:
Updating Team Details
From the Notes & Restrictions screen, you can also update:
Grade Level
Competitive Level
Guaranteed Games
Team Name
These updates help keep the schedule accurate and ensure teams land in the correct divisions.
Handling New Requests After Registration
If a team sends an updated request by email, phone, or on event day:
Open Notes & Restrictions.
Add their update in the Notes field.
Apply the matching restriction (time, coach, or location).
Save your changes.
💡 Tip: Notes alone won’t affect scheduling — restrictions must be entered to apply.
