Importing teams by CSV helps you add teams faster and can significantly speed up scheduling by applying divisions, pools, and constraints automatically.
Here's how:
From the top navigation, click Events and select your event.
Click Schedule, then click Teams.
In the top right, click Import Teams.
Select Bulk Import.
Click Download Template to use the Fastbreak CSV format. Using the template ensures your file is set up correctly.
Fill out the CSV file with your team information.
The required fields are:
Team Name — must be unique within the same age or grade and should not include age or gender in the name.
Age — use values like 11U, 12U, 13U, etc.
Gender — must be Boys or Girls.
You can also include optional fields to save time later:
Competitive Level
Division — teams will be automatically placed if included.
Pool — groups teams within a division.
Team Comment — for notes or preferences.
Coach First Name / Last Name
Coach Email / Phone
Add scheduling details directly in the CSV to reduce manual work later.
Time Constraint — example:
Games before 2:00 on Saturday
Games after 3:00 on the second day
These are automatically turned into scheduling restrictions.
Venue Constraint — must match one of your event venues. You can assign different venues by day if needed.
Coach Constraint — use the same value (ex: 1) for teams that share a coach so they are not scheduled at the same time.
Save your file as a CSV, then click Upload File and select your file.
Review your teams in the preview screen.
You can click into any field to make quick edits or adjustments before importing.
This is your chance to fix divisions, pools, or any missing information.
Teams with divisions/pools will be placed automatically.
Teams without them will go to Unassigned Teams.
Click Import [#] teams to complete the import.
