Creating matchups is where you set up all the games each team will play. Fastbreak lets you build matchups quickly—either automatically for all divisions or manually within each division. You can also fine-tune matchups by adding games, adjusting pairings, or starting over when needed.
Automatically Generate Matchups for All Divisions
If you want Fastbreak to create matchups for every division at once, you can do it with one click.
This saves you a ton of time because Fastbreak builds all matchups instantly, even for large events.
Here’s how:
Go to Scheduling and find your event in the list.
From the Teams tab, click the Basketball icon next to the red toggle at the top.
Fastbreak will create the full set of games based on how many matchups each division needs.
Manually Create Matchups
If you want more control, you can generate matchups one division at a time.
Here’s how:
Go to the Matchups tab.
Use the division dropdown to select the division you want to build.
Click Generate Games.
Choose how many games each team should play.
Fastbreak will generate matchups for that division.
Move to the next division by selecting a new division and repeating the steps 3 to 4.

Additional Ways To Fine-Tuning Matchups
After generating matchups, you may want to make changes to improve balance, fix uneven counts, or adjust pairings. Fastbreak provides a few simple tools to help you do this.
Add Individual Games
Use this when a team needs one or two extra games without regenerating the entire division. This is helpful when a team asks for a bonus game, when a division has an odd number of teams, or when you want to even out the number of rounds across the group.
Here’s how:
Click Add Game.
Choose the home team, away team, and round.
Save.
Adjust Matchups
Use this when you need to swap teams to avoid repeat opponents, improve competitive balance, or clean up matchups that don’t make sense. For example, if two teams already played each other earlier in the season or if one matchup looks uneven, you can fix it quickly.
Here’s how:
Find the game you want to change.
Drag a team over another to swap them.
The game updates instantly.
Clear and Restart
Use this when you want to reset the entire division and rebuild its matchups from scratch. This is helpful when the division format changes, when you want to reorganize teams into pools later, or when the current matchups aren’t balanced and you want a clean slate.
Here’s how:
Open the division.
Click Clear Games.
Regenerate or add new games.
ℹ️ You can only make changes when the schedule is offline. If the schedule is online, toggle it off before editing matchups.
