Competition Page
Open the Competition tab and select a division from the dropdown at the top (use Prev/Next to move between divisions). Each division holds one or more stages.
Stage 1 - Pool Play
If you did not set pools upon import, click Add Pool, select the teams you want to add to the pool, and click Move to pool. Alternatively select multiple teams and click Create Pool in the bottom bar. You can also drag teams between pools using the six-dot handle.
Once all pools are created. Enter the number of Guaranteed Games (the minimum number of pool play games each team will play) for the division.
Click Generate Matches. Matchups appear as tiles across the top of the screen (e.g., “A1 v A2 (R1)” = Pool A Team 1 vs. Team 2, Round 1).
To adjust the title display format, click Default to open the dropdown menu (Team Names, Match Info, Time Templates).
Click Custom Match to build a matchup manually.
Click Reset Matches to clear all pool play matches.
To delete a pool, click the trash can icon next to the pool name. Identify where the teams from the deleted pool will go. If you select a Pool, the teams will be added to a Pool. If you select Unassigned, the teams will be removed from the Division and will need to be reassigned from the Teams page.
Once matches have been played, scores can be entered on this page by clicking on a matchup. Enter scores, mark forfeits and exclusions, and mark scores as final. Click Save. Note that the schedule must be published for scores to be entered.
WATCH OUT | The Reset Matches button deletes every matchup for that division. Resetting matches is a required step in order to change teams, divisions, pools, or guaranteed games. |
Stage 2 - Bracket Play
What you are doing: Building the bracket(s) that take place after pool play and identifying how teams advance to the bracket.
Click Add stage.
Then click Add bracket play stage. Two sections appear: Stage Advancement (how teams are seeded out of pools) and Bracket Play.
In Stage Advancement, click Expand to view stage advancement criteria.
Click Edit to set a max score differential and adjust pool and division placement tiebreakers via the dropdown menus, then Save. The order defaults to typical tiebreaker rules. Default tiebreaker settings can be updated in Organizational Settings.
Click Add Bracket.
Input a Bracket Name to be used throughout the schedule.
Determine the bracket Format. Single Elimination is the default method with a standard knockout setup.
Determine the Number of Teams that will advance to this bracket.
Identify the Seeding Preference to determine how the bracket placements are made.
Watch the live preview update as you configure settings. Each team placement shows its source (e.g. “Pool A 1st Place” or “Pool B 2nd Place"). Click any team slot to configure it (details below). Use Zoom In, Zoom Out, and Reset to navigate the view, then click Save to Stage when done.
If you have multiple brackets, you can add another bracket to the same stage or add a new stage for the next advancement of the competition.
Configure a Bracket Matchup
Select one of the team placements in a bracket matchup to open the Source type dropdown.
Specific Team: Force-assign one named team to the slot via a Team dropdown listing all rostered teams.
Pool Place: Choose a Pool (e.g. Pool A, Pool B), then a Place (e.g. 1st, 4th), so the matchup pulls the team based on pool results.
Division Place: Choose the Division Place to populate the matchup slot based on rankings across all pools in the division.
From Pool: Add a team from a Pool and identify a pool Position. Pool Position can be adjusted by clicking and dragging the six-dot handle next to the team.
Winner from Match: Add the winning team from a specific match. Choose the Bracket and Match to pull from.
Loser from Match: Add the losing team from a specific match. Choose a Bracket and a Match to pull from.
Every time slot popup also has Clear slot option that empties the assignment. This prompts a caution message in the bottom left and the time slot will have Configure in place of a team. Brackets will not be
There is also a Reset to default option that restores the system-generated default based on the bracket seeding preference.
Click anywhere outside the matchup to save changes to a bracket matchup.
Click Save to Stage to finalize the bracket setup.
TIP | Leaving a slot's dropdown chain incomplete — choosing a source type but not finishing every field — leaves that slot unconfigured. The panel shows a warning (“1 slot still needs to be configured…”) until every highlighted slot in the preview is fully set. |
Set Up Matches for Several Divisions
If you want similar pool and bracket configurations for divisions with the same number of teams per pool, click Multi Setup in the top right of the Competition page.
The Multi-Setup function only works when the following criteria are met:
When the target division has the same number of teams in the division, the same number of pools, and the same number of teams in each pool.
When there are no matches generated yet, across both pool play and bracket play.
Additional stages are not configured for the division.
When the sword icon is blue for every division in the division dropdown menu in the top right, match generation is complete across the entire event.
