Fastbreak Ticketing includes a powerful capability built for real tournament conditions: Offline Ticket Sales, a unique Fastbreak feature that leverages the native offline functionality of a Stripe Terminal.
When a venue has weak or unreliable connectivity, Fastbreak Ticketing allows your staff to keep scanning, selling and collecting payment at the gate. Families move through the entrance quickly, and your event keeps generating revenue without interruption.
Keep selling and scanning tickets at every venue, even without Wi-Fi.
Avoid long lines, delays and cash-only backups.
Maintain accurate, centralized reporting across all sites.
Protect event revenue in real-world environments where connectivity varies.
The Snap Entry mobile app also allows staff to scan and verify tickets offline after downloading the full list of valid patrons in advance (with internet access). Once synced, the app can confirm entries without any network access.
Fastbreak Ticketing ensures your gate operations stay fast, predictable and consistent at every facility.
How It Works
Fastbreak Ticketing uses Stripe Terminal’s offline capabilities behind the scenes, but the tracking, validation, and reconciliation are all handled within the Fastbreak platform. Here’s what happens:
If a device running the Snap Entry app loses internet connectivity, the reader continues accepting card-present payments.
The reader encrypts and stores each payment attempt locally and securely.
Fastbreak Ticketing automatically flags these transactions as “pending offline” so your staff always knows what has been collected.
When the device reconnects, Fastbreak syncs all pending payments to Stripe for authorization and updates your event reporting.
This creates a seamless experience for both operators and families, even in challenging environments.
Why It’s Safe and Secure
Fastbreak Ticketing follows Stripe’s highest security standards:
Card data is encrypted on the external card reader and Stripe's SDK and is never stored in plain text.
Your devices never handle sensitive card numbers, keeping you fully compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
Secure syncing ensures offline transactions are processed through Stripe’s encrypted channels as soon as you’re back online.
All data is purged from memory after processing.
Because this capability is built directly into Fastbreak Ticketing, operators get a controlled event-ready offline flow.
Important Notes
Warning
Offline payments are not fully authorized until your mobile device reconnects. While most transactions will process successfully, there is a risk that a card may be declined once it’s submitted for approval.
Hardware Requirements
Offline Ticket Sales does not work with Tap to Pay. Offline, this function only works when using an external Stripe Terminal smart reader that supports secure offline transaction queuing.
Approved Readers
This external card reader includes encrypted local storage and on-device processing required for offline payments:
How to Order: You can purchase approved Stripe readers directly from Stripe’s hardware shop after you login to your Stripe account: https://stripe.com/docs/terminal/shop
